Photographer of the Year 2007 Round 1 Results: Winter

Filed under: Uncategorized — Diarmuid @ 10:54 pm

Snow and ice were a prominent subject with this competition as you would expect from a theme such as this. In most of the images that achieved the top fifteen places, snow and ice was very prominent. However the winning image had that little bit extra.

The winner of this competition was Anna Herrington from London, England with her image titled “Cold Face”. It was a very well thought out image that immediately stood out from the bunch due to the subject matter and the way it was presented. Well done Anna and enjoy spending your $75.00 Amazon Gift Certificate and yuor copy of Cypics Photo Album.

Second place and a $40.00 Amazon Gift Certificate went to Raymond Widawski from Brussels, Belgium. Like Anna, Raymond is no stranger to our competitions and has also placed before. His Winter offering was simply titled “Cemetery” and aptly so, as that is what the image depicted. However very careful use of colour has made this image stand out.

A simple and graphic image has won third place for Tilly Meijer of the Netherlands with her simple study of a snow scene and tree. Tilly has won a $25.00 Amazon Gift Certificate. Spend well Tilly.
