Student Gallery - Angelika Demidova and Marco Veneziani

Filed under: Uncategorized — Diarmuid @ 8:12 pm

The standard expected of an image before it is even considered for our Student Gallery is quite high. This is why only a few new images are added each month. Therefore those images that do get chosen are really something special. The students who have taken these images should be very proud.

Diana by Angelika Demidova from the United Arab Emirates

Angelika is now working on her second photography course with us. She has completed our Basic Photography Course and is now working through our Digital Photography Course. This image titled Diana is an exceptional example of what can be done using good quality images, careful digital editing and a lot of imagination. Angelika had submitted this image as part of her 4th Project in the Digital Photography Course.
Watch Over Me by Marco Veneziani from West Sussex, England

The secret to the success of most good photographic images is lighting. You can have the composition just right and the technical aspects perfect in an image. But if the lighting doesn’t suit for whatever reason, it lets the whole image down.

This photo by Marco is a good example of how careful lighting can make the image stand out. The lighting has created a very warm and relaxing atmosphere to aid the story of this image of a girl safe and well with her teddybear to watch over her. Marco had submitted this image as part of his first Freelance Photography Project.

School of Photography.com Newsflash
Basic Photography Course 2007 - major update due 1st March 2007
Our Basic Photography Course has been updated significantly and will be available from March 1st 2007. Earlier versions of this course were based on the film camera, with references to digital cameras which were not in widespread use at the time of writing. The new 2007 version has been expanded and is now based on Digital SLR cameras and digital media. Film and film cameras are still included in the course and many of the techniques shown are applicable to both digital and film cameras.

The updated course now has more lessons, images and diagrams, and more information then ever before. In fact this course is much more substantial and up to date than any other course of it’s kind found on the Internet.

Launch date of this new version of Basic Photography is 1st March 2007. Existing students have automatic access to the new course and should refresh their cache to view it. Please be aware there is many more new lessons in the new course. If you have bookmarked your current lesson please access the new course via the index page.
